What tires & size should I run?

Since I put in the vigilante and put 3.23's back in the car I can't get much traction.

Should I run ET streets or get some slicks? I'm
building a new engine and wanting to put Nitrous on this one but I've got to get the car to hook.

What size ,type should I get and where's the best place to get them?

DOT drag tires and full slicks are equivalent. The DOT tires are slick with a couple of very thin grooves cut in them. They are "legal" for use on public rods. But except for very limted use on dry roads are not really suitable. If you add nitrous and a sitcky set of tires, your rear end especially and also your driveshaft and axles are in some danger of grenading.

As far as size, there are a lot of options. The most cost effective is to get a set of stock 16x8" rims and use a 26x11.5x16" tire. These should be good for 60' times in the 1.5 second range with sotck suspension if you have enough hp. They will fit with no modifications to the fenders or wheel wells.

Which drive shaft would I need?
I wouldn't spray Nitrous out of the hole on my 10 bolt.

The rear end is probably weaker than the DS. What shaft is in your car now? Stock steel or aluminum? The steel shaft is stronger.

Most likely the rear end will break before the DS. If you plan a stout motor and nitrous, you need an aftermarket steel DS to go with the rear end you will need! Denny's "nitrous ready" is an excellent shaft at a fair price. Mark Williams makes an excellent shaft, but quite pricey.
