What Spark Plugs?

For a 383 11:1 CR? I usually use TR-55's on my older Fbods but was thinking of going with TR6's since this new car has the higher CR. Opinions? Also, what should i gap them at? Thanks guys

Hmm, I never even thought about switching out my spark plugs on the new engine. Ill be keeping track of this thread. At the moment im running TR-55's with .050 gap, as recommended on the stock engine.

I would still run the tr55's if its N/A and gap them at .045 or maybe even .040 but if your running spray then I would deffinitely go with the tr6's.

Spark plug requirement is dictated by engine operating conditions. Bump your HP up significantly, and you usually (but not always) need a colder plug to keep from burning the electrodes up, or promoting pre-ignition. If you are running the TR55's, check the gap after a couple thousand miles and see if it has opened up. If it has, you need a colder plug. You can also get a reading from the condition of the insulator around the center electrode that will indicate if you are running the correct heat range. Go too cold and you are going to carbon up the plugs.

I've had good luck with the TR6's with nitrous on a stock/bolt-on setup, and with the stroker and not running nitrous, Autolite 104's. There's a bit of a debate whether the 104's are 1/2- or a full-step colder than stock, but they work for me. With a small shot of nitrous I drop down to the 103's.
