What other valvetrain upgrades needed with cc503 cam swap

how many miles on the stock lifters?
u might be able to get by with the stock timing chain, im not entirely sure. im not entirely sure if those come with 1.5 RRs, or 1.6's, someone else should be able to clear that up.
I would look into hardened pushrods too while your in there.

I can tell you from experience, do not try to skimp on parts when dealing with your valve train. Spend the money and get it done right the first time.
Get Crane/Comp Cams lifters or something more serious for a big cam, chro-mo push rods, make sure you've got the right valve springs, make sure they're set with the right number of shims, 7/16th rocker studs, 7/16th stud non-self-aligning roller rockers, gm guide plates, gm heavy duty timing chain, ect.

Shouldn't you always replace the lifters when doing a cam swap?
So far I have:
cc503 cam
lifters
timing chain
springs
bolts
1.6rr are like $250. Do I really need those. I'm trying to cut out parts I don't have to have.

Replacing lifters isn't a necessity when doing a cam swap on a roller lifter motor. If it was a flat tappet cam you would want to replace the lifters at the time of the cam swap. The same thing with roller rockers, going with a nice used set can save you some dough as well.

Unless you're deadset on that cam, or already purchased it I'd say consider the hot cam kit like previously stated.
You can get the Cam, 1.6 roller rockers, valve springs, valve caps, valve keys, valve spring shims, for $536.54 from...*cough* GMPartsDirect *cough*
This way everythings GM quality, and engineered to work together. Get an upgraded timing set, don't run OEM. People have already listed cloyes, LT4 Heavy Duty set....I'd personally recommend a LUNATI HD set if you're budget minded. I've seen them for as cheap as $180.00 new from JEGS, and you can run the stock timing chain cover if you have a non-vented opti with this timing set (which you cannot do with a double-roller setup). Then get Chrome Moly purshrods. This will compliment everything else, and you should be able to find a name brand (CRANE, etc.) new set for around $50.00 if you hunt around. Again like previously stated, inspect you're stock lifters, if they look good run them. If you're skeptical I'd get OEM replacements, you can get 'em for $26.00/8 from GMPartsDirect.
So:
LT4 Hotcam Kit - $536.54 P/N # 12480002
Lunati Timing Set - $180.00
Chrome-Moly Pushrods - $50.00
OEM Lifters (if needed) - $52.00 P/N # 17120735
This comes to $766.54 w/out lifters...$818.54 w/lifters.
This seems to be a realistic alternative considering your budget. Just my $.02.

...meh, I gave my opinion on a budget valvetrain build...take it for what it's worth...
