i got a 97 ss and just ordered some bbk headers and was wondering how much power to expect from those. i also wanted to know what other bolt on mods would show me a difference in power. i used to have a 92 camaro with a 305 and i put headers and a throttle body on and i didnt really feel any difference at all.

 

Headers, Gears, CAI, good tune up. Thats the top bolt ons...... There is also nitrous which will definately make a difference in SOTP. :-D

 

It all depends on what you want to pay and what you consider "bolt on"

You could go with a Lloyd Elliott heads and cam package to get you going up in numbers considerably fast. But thats going to cost from 1000-1900 bucks or somewhere around there for a general price range.

I would definitely consider intake and full exhaust if you dont have it already. Wait...you got a SS...so that helps a bit...I would strongly recommend a tb...either 52 or 58mm or you could get a monoblade one too that will benefit you later on down the road, depending on your mods. Get some gears too...if you want a seat of the pants feel, get some gears...no power change but you will like the feel of it.

Get some ignition...I personally like the MSD 6AL system...but there are betters out there...but thats all I have for now...but if I were you I would consider a heads and cam package...or just get a cam if you dont have that much...I dont have lloyd website onhand...but do a search for it...Its worth it.

Don't waste time with a 6AL or a throttle body at this point. Waste of $.

 

An electric water pump, roller rockers, and free mods. would also be some good upgrades.
