I dunno what muffler I have on my car, it was there when I bought it. It sounds alright, but I had a cutout installed. So now it can be quiet or insanely loud. I am a big fan

how would these mufflers (ie the dynomax which was mentioned) perform if I'm looking to close my cutout because its just too loud sometimes for the driving I do.

I would hate to put on a better flowing muffler, cap my cutout and lose power. Would I lose much? My dyno showed 8-10 hp to the wheels with my cutout open....I wonder with it capped but a straight through muffler installed ...

I'm looking to run the cutout open at the track only, but I'm not wanting to give up too much for around town with it closed....

This thread has already answered some questions for me, and I hate to hijack!

cut out

I'm pretty sure they go for like $130.00 or something in that ballpark, but why not just get an electric cut out? There great for a car that isn't a full time track car. You just flip a switch, in the cabin and your open headers or depending on where you put it no cat, muffler. It's really simple too.
