What the heck does this plug go to?

There is a plug that is broken, and has 4 wires (they appear to be pink, brown, purple, and black). one or two may have a stripe on them, but I was just trying to identify the major colors.

It comes off the harness where the starter wires come off of as well (under pass side motor mount). The connector I believe was configured like a square (2 x 2) in stead of 4x1. I can post pics tonight, but what the heck does it go? I do not see the mating piece anywhere?

I can post pics tonight.

It could be (a tan wire looks like a dirty pink wire). If I remember correctly though, it was a 2x2 plug, not a 1x4 plug (know what I mean)?

If it was a 2x2 plug, than it wasn't the O2 plug.

Could it be for the A/C compressor? No. 9 in this pic.

I have a non-A/C car and I do not recall a connector like that on that side...

Does that mean it *never* had an A/C?

a/c wiring is usually a 2 wire connector, and flat. all it does is turn the clutch on and off

Which car are you asking about - the 95 or the 96? The 96 would have a square (2x2) connector for the after-cat O2 sensor, and a flat (1x4) connector for the pre-cat sensor.

That's correct. It's also a single cat.

Injuneer might be onto something. I believe this is Jon's '96.

But a 96 would have dual cats. The single cat cars (93-95) are OBD-I and don't have after-cat O2 sensors or connectors.

Injuneer,

Somehow I meant that my '95 has neither A/C nor post-cat sensor and I didn't recall ever dealing with that type of connector.

Is that Inductive...or Deductive...either way it was a poor attempt at explaining a thought

No logic involved.... you posted that its a 96 and had a single cat. Does not compute. Not sure how anyone was supposed to know it was a 95
