If you mean replacing the stock pump, you have to drop the rear end and remove the fuel tank (some cut an access hole in the rear hatch area right behind the rear seat to avoid dropping the tank.) Walbro, Holly, and Granitelli sell basically the same 255 lph intank pump to replace the stocker. You can also add an inline pump which is quite a bit easier, but the output can be limited by the stock pump depending on fuel demands. What are your hp goals? Anything under 400, the stocker should be fine. For 400-500, the intanks mentioned above or a basic inline pump like the NOS, Accel, or Vortec T-Rex. Anying over that, the big Aeromotive 1000 hp pump. If I have left any options out someone please jump in.
The job is a pain, but doable. I installed the Racetronix setup. It lets you keep the stock fuel bucket. They use a Walbro pump, but they also include the other parts to make the whole job go better. Top quality stuff. Thunder Racing sells the Racetronix kits.
I'm puttin' out more than 400 now (still haven't dyno'd the car) so guess I need a bigger fuel pump. I'll be installing a Moser rearend in the car in the next few weeks so might as well change out the fuel pump while the rear is already out of the car....
