Anyone who will install headers for $100 has probably never done them on an LT-1 car.
It took me around 12 hours.

Yeah, I'm with everyone else here. I want to know where he's getting his parts and what he's using to estimate from. For gears and labor to install you'd be looking at $550 realistically. $100 for a header install is entirely too cheap. Sounds fishy.

Of course he could be a friend that's doing it on the side just to help ya out.

So does that make it true?

All joking aside he's either one hell of a friend or getting ready to swindle you out of some cash. I could be wrong and it be neither, he just doesn't know what he's getting into. For parts and labor to install both you should be looking at $1200 depending on what headers you get. Plus all the misc dumb **** that goes along with it (plugs, wires, and anything else that's worn or broken)

Just look into it more before you go in thinking it's one bill and get a complete different one.

Before I did my cam swap, I ran dead even with my buddy's 01 SS. He was stock and I had a full exhaust, CAI, and un-tuned. Both were 6 speeds, and we're both fatasses..... so it was pretty even.

something else worthy of mention here: all LS1's do not dyno >300 stock. 98-99 models routinely put down 270 to 290, and the latter models were usually >300.
