You mean me, ricer? Why don't you give us a comprehensive list of what bolt-ons are acceptable in your little world, and we'll go by that.

Chrome tail lights. What planet you from?

ran whats in the sig.

i mean, he could have a bottle somewhere and you dont know it, its possible. and mine is a 2.73 gear'd car cuttin 1.5 60's and 12.2 1/4's

bolt ons (according to me)
I/H/E, tune, converter, gears, slicks, shift kit, throttle body, pully, roller rockers, and anything removed for weight savings.

so, that said, i think being in the mid 12's is possible with all those things and a LOT of weight loss. but under normal conditions with a daily driven street car, some kind of forced induction would be needed.

For a stock car with no weight reduction, high 13's are the norm.

I think until "barely any mods" and "mostly boltons" is cleared up we cant know for sure. BUT I think 99.9% of the time if anyone were to say my car has barely any mods, just a few boltons what would I run? Most people are gona say mid to high 13's, maybe lower 13's with a really good driver...

For someone saying they have sticky tires and boltons most people would say at best high 12's, low 13's.

For me to say 12.2 (A LOW 12) in the quarter the person would have to say "A lot of major boltons and some major weight reduction with sticky tires" or "Stock motor and I sprayed" or "barely any mods, just a well tuned cam and a few boltons"

you are wrong i have seen bolt on cars run low low 12's without a cam and with stock heads and bottom end

some of you guys just mod the hell out of your motors and forget about suspension being a BIG part in your e/t . suspension can take off a second when setup correct

@ stock weight (no major weight reduction) with no nitrous? Who are these people? IF they chucked 400 lbs out of their car and could really really hook maybe.. but the A4 would still need a pretty major stall at the least. We're not talking high 12.8/9's were talking a 12.2 here ....

Re: what does it take to run a 12.2 in the 1/4

I'll bet a full-weight LT1 could hit 12.2 with the following:

LT headers, no cats, and a 3" catback
CAI
Pulleys
EWP
Injectors & fuel pump
LCAs w/ relo's
V6 springs in the rear
DRs
3500 stall and a shift kit (or a good clutch and a great driver on an M6)
PCM tune
A nice low DA and a sticky track.

Stock cam, stock heads, no slicks, and no blower. Anyone care to argue? I'm kinda guessing.

Re: what does it take to run a 12.2 in the 1/4

I ran mid 12's with just suspension, long tubes, cai, 1.6 rr, gears and tuning with a set of stickey tires and that is not a full bolt on car

old setup over a year ago BTW ^
