what does a factory set of lt1 heads flow
what does a factory set of lt1 heads flow
im thinking of buying a new set of heads and im not sure what to get 195, 210 im stroking this engine out so any ideas would be helpful .....and why dont they have many heads for a lt1 they all try to get you to go with a lt4 which has to have the intake from a lt4 also .....is that correct?.....thanks
Re: what does a factory set of lt1 heads flow
There are a limited amount of choices for us and it is frustrating. However, we do have some very good heads to choose from. It all depends on how much you want to spend! AFR makes alot of LT1 stuff, Trickflow makes a 195cc head which is decent. The Edelbrock head which is pretty cheap (under 1000 for the pair) is still being evaluated. There are porters out there that get some crazy flow numbers from the factory heads. Lloyd Elliot, Advanced Induction, TEA etc...A good alternative would be to have Mike Harris in Dayton do them. He has a record setting Impala SS with his own ported LT1 iron heads. His heads work! Of course, you could get a set of SBC heads and have them converted for LT1 use for about 400 bucks.

I am not meaning to hijack here but I was just wondering if anyone has some real bench flow numbers on AFR 210 comp ported LT4`s.I know they flow less than the wesite says but I just wondered how much less.
