Oh jeez...
Well the oil pump pickup is probably bent/smashed/damaged as well.
Basically don't start the car again until you can get the oil pan off and see what happened.

Re: Oilpan smashed

The oil pump pickup sits right around the middle of the pan and is pretty close to the bottom so it is possible that you smashed it as well. If you didn't, you still run the risk of sucking a bunch of junk up as sometimes crud can settle on the bottom of the pan and this can become a disaster for you.

Dan,

Who's car? If you need help PM me I will see if I have some free time. Maybe I camn bring my cherry picker and we can pop the motor mounts off and lift the motor up enough to get the pan out without disconnecting much else.

Re: Oilpan smashed

oil pan in the car is not an easy task due to the small windage tray even with loosening the mounts

Re: Oilpan smashed

Yea, not an easy task but it can be done. Get the through bolts out of the motor mounts, raise the motor up some. Be sure and take out the low oil level sensor or you will break it when trying to remove the pan(it hangs on the windage tray).
