Track altitude is the elevation of the track above sea level.
Density altitude is the altitude at which the air at standard conditions would be equal to the actual air conditions at the track, reflecting the affects of air temperature, barometric pressure and humidity.

You start with track altitude. You then correct this altitude for non standard barametric pressure of 29.92. This gives your your "pressure altitude". Pressure altitude is what your car "feels" like it is at. However, non standard temps will effect the pressure altitude. So you correct the "pressure altitude" for the current temps and this gives you "Density Altitude" .
