From what you said before on the bucks-up SBC. Yep, don't go LT1. Bowtie/World block and some really good heads, or a 7 L LS1.

You can go 10s NA with HR set up but it will take a great set of heads and a healthy cam and the car would have to be in the 3300 or less race weight. It can be done!

it doesnt take 550rwhp NA.. more like 520 (actual on the day of running).

assumign the power band is broad that is.

If you wanna go fast with an LT1.. 396ci, with 18degree converted heads. I bet you could make 550+rwhp pretty easy.

Or you could do what some did and convert some badass 1st gen sbc heads to match the lt1 block and a 396 or 383...

I belive that's what Jordon was talking about, but instead of using a production based 23* head, using a 18* head such as the ones made by Brodix. But that wouldn't be the cheapest way to go since you would need a whole new valve train, plus the cost of converting the heads. You know, they make k members to fit big block motors into our cars now, that might be more cost effective in the long run.
