Can anybody tell me what P0410 secondary air system malfunction is and if its something that would affect performance.

You have a problem with the AIR pump... most common problem is a blown fuse. There is actually a factory recall on the AIR pump.

Will not affect perfromance. AIR system only operates for a few minutes at startup. It may cause your radiator fans to run all the time, though.
