What the difference between new and old rockers?

Why wouldn't these work on a 97 Camaro?

They very well might, but IMO it's not really worth it to go to just a roller tipped rocker. Not much benefit there.

Not much gain from just a roller tip as rob said. It also looks as those are NSA from the pics (didnt see for sure in the text). If thats the case, you will need guideplates and hardened pushrods too.

Aren't any rockers with the ball washer/cup design considered self-aligning? It's just like the stock ones.

Re: What the difference between new and old rockers?

Interesting thought. I looked immediately at the tip and there wasnt a groove cut for the valves to ride on. The stockers have the little stamped lips at least to keep it centered on the valve. I would think that the rocker would rotate on the rocker stud without something on the valve stem end, regaurdless of if its a ball washer/cup design or a jamnut type design. I dont have a answer either way, just thinking out loud to you.

1418-16 is the part number for our cars.

Looks like those are 1416-16.

I've heard good things about them. They are relatively quiet, and produce nice gains from the added lift and roller tip.
