what could be the problem?

what could be the problem?
ok, as my car sits, it has edelbrock headers, no cat(with the straight pipe not completely on, so it causes an exhaust leak..car backfires) borla exhaust no plate(and pretty open plate too..problem happens with both)
well when I accelerate from a dead stop...the car feels like there is no power until 1500-2k rpms no matter if I have partial throttle or 3/4 throttle, then it smoothens out and shifts....but felt like it did the same thing in 2nd gear when i just drove it.
Last week when i noticed this problem it didnt feel like it wanted to shift until near redline, even though i wasnt that much in the throttle. I cant drive it like this because its just too damn loud, dont need to be winding out the motor.
so what do you think? I wish it was an easier thing to explain, but youd have experience it more or less to give me a good answer :-/
thanks

Re: what could be the problem?
dammit dammit dammit!! just tried to go to the muffler shop, car stalled on me pulling into the street. luckily it started back up, but while running, wanted to stall again, and give gas didnt do much unless it was 3/4 throttle that that barely rolled me back into the driveway
i hate this ****ing car

Re: what could be the problem?
it sounds like two different problems. Like the shift points need adjusted, and an engine problem.
Does it do this in closed loop, or open loop, or both? More info needed

well it stalled out on me just that one time, about 20 minutes after i took it around the block. all the other parts about my complaint happen when its first started after sitting a while, and continue while its still hot.
i also got an SES light that came on about 10 miles after i got the car back from the shop...but he told me they put 30 miles or so on it with no problems

Re: what could be the problem?
month later TTT
well i was running it the other day after replacing the TPS..while cold, it idle'd fine nd such...shut it off...went back a few minutes wanted to stall out and not start.
Ran it yesterday up to operating temps and it was fine...revved freely too!
I picked up a scan/data collecter thing today, and I pulled 3 codes -P0122, P0335, P0336-
I know what the codes mean, but what needs replacing to cure the intermittent problem?

Re: what could be the problem?
Did you check the new TPS sensor for voltage... full closed should be 0.20-0.90V. Anything less than 0.20V sets code P0122. Then open the TPS sensor slowly to full open.... should increase voltage SMOOTHLY to about 4.0V above the "closed" reading.
The code indicates there is a short to ground... so you need to look at the harness connector and the wiring, if you already replaced the TPS sensor.
The crank position sensor seems to be putting out an incorrect signal. This wouldn't affect the engine operation or stalling. Work on finding the short in the TPS system first.

Re: what could be the problem?
well, i cleared the codes, then got the light back, the TPS code is gone, but the P0335/P0336 codes are still there...dont wanna risk it stalling in traffic, so im just going back and forth in my parking space, and it felt like it started bogging down again..but still revved freely. My next off day Im aiming to take it for a spin on the not so crowded rush hour streets and get some good readings with this thing(product is called 'carchip' by DriveRight) then head to a muffler shop to weld in a cat to quiet down this exhaust
thanks for the help
