what could cause code 154?
what could cause code 154?
I am getting a code 154 which says something like the right front o2 is not being detected?? Could this mean that maybe it is not actually connected properly or maybe a wire is cut?? The code was not there until I had a shop install new header gaskets and when they were finished I got the code. The o2s were installed about 3 months prior to the header gaskets. The car is a 96 LT1 with 113000 miles and the car has mac headers and a couple of small things done to it. If someone could help me I would love them. Thanks

A good source for accurate code descriptions:
AutoTap Code List
It shows:
P0154 HO2S Circuit Insuff. Activity Bank 2 Sensor 1
That means the voltage coming back to the PCM from the passenger side pre-cat O2 sensor isn't showing much in the way of movement. Could be a disconnected sensor, poorly grounded sensor, burned harness wire, sensor contaminated with oil or other foreign material..... etc.
First check the harness wire to make sure its connected, and not burned or crushed on something. If the wire is good, swap the right and left side sensors, and see if the problem moves with the sensor..... the code will change to P0134 for the drivers side instead of the passenger side, and that will confirm its a bad O2 sensor.

SWEET! I am hoping that it is and actual o2 or connection problem. I guess I will be switching them on my day off then. Thanks alot for the quick response. I will post back to tell the result.
