what is this connector and sensor ?

Hello,

when i took my old short block off from my engine, there were a connector going on block plug (passenger side). I dont have them on the new block, plugs are standard on it.

what sensor was on the plug ?

The block drain hole on the passenger side is used for the knock sensor. Unless the knock retard function has been "programmed out" of you PCM, you need the knock sensor. Without the sensor, you get a code/SES light, and continous/variable knock retard.

i've no interest in getting rid of the knock sensor.

temperature here are never less than 15°C. If it is a block heater i will delete it. I dont beleive having it disconnected can cause a problem ?

Probably would have gotten the correct answer faster if you had included the picture in the first post......
