Thumbs up What about this idea?

I have a billet grille on my car and i was talking to someone the other day about cutting the area in between the foglights so that he could put an intercooler there and get the much needed air flow for it.

But i was thinking about doing it to my N/A Z28. I know it really wouldn't have a performance gain, other than keeping the car cool, but to me thats a good enough reason to do it.

I know there is a hollow area in between the front facia and where it loops back to the back underneath.

So i was thinking about making a kind of intake for it. Like a retangulaur box of sorts.

So am i just an idiot or should i do it?

BTW here is a diagram of what i would like to do.

LMAO. Nice drawing

I dont think it would really help to cool things down too much, not any more than a CAI would alreaty cool things down. FI setups need it because air gets hot when it gets compressed.

NO2 cools things down awsomely as well

Umm CAI doesnt decrease engine compartment temps, or engine temps.

Im just kinda thinking it wouldnt hurt to have air flowing around down there cooling the block, headers and reducing underhood heatsoak. Because heat > LT1

Very true.

The best way to cool down an engine compartment would probably be to put on a ram air, or cowl hood. I thought about cutting out the fake vents in my stock hood

I already have a ram-air hood. Im just never satisfied with leaving well enough alone.
