Weird Ignition problems ( kinda long )

Ok, first of all I was driving and my opti went out and my car would not start. So I swapped the opti out with a new accel one from summit. ( got it for $200 due to price matching!! Thank you JC SH*TME ) Then it started and ran fine up until about 5,000 rpm where it would start popping and backfiring. I put new NGK TR55 plugs in it with no luck. I tried changing out my MSD coil and ignition module but it still did not fix it. I changed the coil wire and it seemed to run ok. We left for the drag strip when the car died along the interstate. A wire pulled out of my opti harness so we had that fixed. Then it started and then died again. We had to change out the coil with a new one and it ran ok. We made it to the track with it running perfect. The first run it started popping and running like crap and ran a 13.11 @104.6. I wasn't sure if it was hitting the rev or running like crap so I bumped my rev up to 6200. The next run it really ran like crap and I had to let off of the gas. After it cooled off it would not start again. I trailered it home, ordered a new summit opti harness and when I installed it, it wouldn't start. NO SPARK. I unplugged the ignition module and plugged it into the old one and it fired right up. So I unplugged it and plugged it back into the new one and it fired up again????? WTF is wrong with this stupid thing?

I would check over all your spark plug wire and opti harness connections and make sure they are firm and seated. Also, it wouldn't hurt to take off the Opti cap and make sure the rotor is properly seated and not loose.

I am going to try a set of my buddies plug wires that we know are good. I have had the cap off of the opti and everything looked good.
