Walbro 255 Intank

I was looking on ebay and found a bunch of these feul pumps brand new for our cars. Would anyone get one off there? Another thing I have heard of people having trouble with these. Would it be better off to get the holley one off of thunder racing or are they all the same?

One of out supporting vendors, Racetronix, offers the Walbro pumps. They have some great packages, including significant wiring upgrades. I think in the past there has been some problems with the Walbro pumps, and I believe Racetronix has posted some info along the lines that Walbro has made improvements to newer model pumps. You might want to make sure you are getting the updated pump, and not some old stock that someone dumped because they might be problem prone.

Im planned on doin just about the same setup you got injuneer. 383 with 300 shot of nitrous. I know Ill need more then just an intake pump. What would you recommend doing an inline also?

Re: Walbro 255 Intank

I run a 300-shot (dry) on a 500HP engine. I run a Bosch 205lph pump in the stock in-tank position for running NA. I have a second Bosch 205lph pump running off a sump on the back of the stock tank. The second pump only runs when the nitrous system is armed. The pumps run in parallel, not in series, joining in a "Y" just before an SX billet fuel filter in the stock location. Check valve in the outboard pump discharge line.

I would not put a second pump in series.... that's generally good for a system where you need high flow at high pressure, like a blower with an FMU or the NOS 5176 dry kit. You will be better off with a pair of pumps running in parallel. I think they make kits for dual pumps in the tank.

I have a lot of pictures, but unfortunately, the server the pictures are on is down, and the guy who owns the server doesn't seem to realize it. I am in the middle of setting up www.injuneer.com to post my photos. Should be done in a few days.
