i am far from a professional on this subject, i learn from the guys here every day

but i would use the pac 1518 springs and the ls7 lifters, you def need to get the springs now, you could use your lifters as long as there is nothing wrong with them. i would also get new rockers which also raises a few questions - 3/8 or 7/16 and self aligning or non self alinging. you could get by with 3/8 and SA rockers, but if you have the money it would be a good idea to upgrade to the 7/16 NSA which would also require you to purchase 7/16 studs and guidplates with chromolly pushrods. you "should" upgrade the pushrods to chromolly for added insurance anyway and the trick flow can be had for a decent price

so if i get the pac 1518s and my stock lifters are in good shape i could reuse them with those springs? also when i send my heads off to the shop what should i get done should i get them to set them up for guide plates and keep in mind im trying to do all this on a small budget so i can't spend a ton of money on headwork.

the ls7 lifters wre oiling fine just couldnt get them to seal with the pushrod???? that was priming it, turning the engine, tried evenrthing, actually thing I was mis diagnosing it, I should have let it run alittle longer, just was scared to trash engine. But anyways I took them out and put oem replacements in, I think I was hearing the header leak and mistook it for valves...... anyways good luck

Been running this setup for 5 years now, makes peak power at 6200rpm with stock heads.
I'm impressed this setup worked well for you. Those GMPP rockers are "maxed" at .575 lift and the exhaust side on a cc306 cam is a .576. I'm running the same cam with those rockers and was worried but a post like that makes me feel alot better. Anyone else running the GMPP rockers with a cam around .575 lift?

1.6 Comp ProMag NSA rockers and hardened guideplates, 918s (the "updated" ones) with +.050 steel retainers, 7.200" (stock length) chromoly pushrods, LS7 lifters. Geometry check showed good even contact with the valvestems. Revs out to 6600rpm without problems!
