valvetrain noise or busted/spun engine bearing?

After swapping cams and the tranny, the torque arm mount came loose. Shortly after that, before I even had a chance to put the torque arm back in its mount, the motor started clacking, sometimes there is a bit of a squeal. At a stop, if the rpms fell too low, and when the engine was hot, the oil pressure went all the way to zero (im running Mobil 5w30, 0w40 is only available on special order) and the check guage light came on.

I have not driven the car since. Tightening the mount did not make the noise go away. I opened both valve covers, could not see a loose rocker arm, and the noise still did not go away, so its not something hitting the valve cover. I'm hopeing this is a collapsed lifter or something stupid like that. I started the car and revved it a couple of times. It is DEFINITELY coming from the passenger side, thats the side I recorded from.

I was wondering what you guys think of this sound. I tried to eliminate as much of the exhaust sound as I could. Motor has almost 60k miles

You my friend have a bad lower end..... Sounds like rod bearings. Rod bearings the knock will occur at idle and as the rpm drops. Main bearing, the knock will increase with engine speed. After the rod bearing is totaly gone it will start to squeal.

Good luck

ewwww.....not good....
good luck w/ that bearing bud....change your oil and see what it looks like...I.E.-shavings. No shavings, get a telescoping magnet and sweep inside of oil pan.....I feel your pain. I put an entire motor in my z 2 yrs ago, only to have it seize up due to a faulty oil pump, after driving it only 1/2 mile. warranties are great, but they dont cover your back breaking labor.

some shavings in the oil I removed from around the rocker, none in the dipstick. I didnt check the oil pan, I'll probably get a mechanic to do that. I guess I have a lot to think about now...
