I installed a 12-bolt. My 10-bolt 3.42 posi differential is complete with bearings, ring and pinion gears in perfect working order, no noise or uneven wear. $125 plus shipping.

 

What year did it come out of ?

 

It's the original diff off my 1995 Trans Am. It has around 50,000 miles as I replaced it with a 10-bolt 3.73 and kept the 3.42 as a spare. With my 12-bolt installed, the 3.42 10-bolt is no longer needed. I can send you pics as needed, it's in very good shape and complete.

Interested to replace the 3.08 open diff in my son's 1996 3.8 V6. Anybody know of a reason it wouldn't work? Are V6 and LT1 cars all 28 spline axles in these years? Reluctor ring for ABS the same?

 

Yes, the 3.42 is available. Send me your eMail or phone for photos. The diff comes with the ABS ring. Mine is a 3 channel system (single channel rear).
