AIR pump throwing SES...why?
Sorry I don't know the exact code number I'm throwing. Anyway my SES Light has been on sinse I bought my 95Z. Just before I bought it the previous owner told me it was the vacum pump throwing the code. So he took it to the GM Dealer and had them replace it, (I have proof of that.) Well It came right back on. I just had the engine rebuilt and the shop spend a couple days messing with that thing too, and replaced it incase maybe it was a bad pump again. Well It's still on. Is there anything else that can make it throw a vacum code? I've checked the electrical connections and vacum connections, no problems there. The only thing I've noticed is, as soon as the cooling fans kick on so does the SES light. ???? Are they even connected to each other??? I'm really confused. it's a 95 with OB1 but 0B2 plug in, so I can't run out and scan it myself to easily. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance!

Re: Vacump pump throwing SES...why?
vacuum pump??
you mean the AIR pump/Secondary Air Injection pump?
if yes, unplug the pump, and make sure the relay and fuse are good, if all else is OK, the light will never come on
and yes, if a code is set, the SES light comes on, and the fans turn on

Re: Vacump pump throwing SES...why?
The AIR pump will frequently blow fuses. The 95 and newer F-Body LT1's are covered by a "recall" on the AIR pumps. Take it back to the dealer that installed the recall parts and tell them its not working.
