Exclamation Urgent!! Stranded Need Your Help!

HI Guys and Gals, Ok I have a major issue on my hands here. This is kind of long, but I really need some help. I am kind of stuck in Orlando and have a three hour trip to make tomorrow. This trip is not a option. I have to get home! Ok now for the car. I swapped out the opti two one week ago to the day. I had no problems all the way back to school and had no problems for a week. I did have a loss of coolant due to a loose hose but I fixed that and put more fluid back in.
I made a three hour trip to Orlando on Thurs night...and had no problems at all. The car then sat for a day. I started it the next day and it was accelerating really rough and just wouldnt drive for crap. I went out today and decided to drive it for a bit and see what would happen. It was fine for a couple minutes then it warmed up and rode like crap again. It feels like the car is missing while accelerating and I was also getting a pretty loud tick from the driver side of the motor. I brought the car back and when I got in the parking garage, the car ran perfectly. It was the wierdest thing. It ran fine all the way through the garage. If you guys could offer any insight on to what the problem is I would be most grateful. Thanks ALOT! Cory

P.S. Car is a 94 Z28 Auto

that water leak you mentioned..........are you sure its completely fixed? and what area was the leak? See..........any moisture that can seep into the opti will throw that thing outta wack making your car miss and run like caca. I would check for signs of water around the opti first.

How about checking the PCM to see if it's storing any codes. Also, maybe you got some bad gas. It could be alot of things but if that hose leaked on your opti, it could be wet inside. Does it still continue to run bad or not? See if you can pin point that tick. It may be an arcing plug wire or an exhaust leak. Hopefully it's not internal mechanical.

Double check the water leak. If it's ok cold and starts the hesitating when it warms up, that leak could have gotten the new opti we too. Depending on how bad it is, if you take it easy you "may" be able to make your trip still.

check all the wires and make sure they arent loose or contacting the exh. or rubbed through on anything. that would give the exact symptom your talking about. if not, Id also suspect some coolant got into the opti. did you put a new opti in, or a used one? if used then you may be introuble. good luck.

when you replaced the opti did you get a whole new unit or just a cap and rotor? anything less then an entire new unit is a bad idea to install because i've heard of way to many stories of someone doing all the work only to have it fail again shortly thereafter. also like the others have said double check the water leak....it may have reoccured and soaked your opti again.

Check your plug wires and make sure they aren't burnt on the exhaust. This can cause a ticking. Check you exhausr gaskets also.
