Two peice main seal crank and LT1

I have a lunati crank installed on an LT1 corvette and I was having problems with the flywheel and the starter... The flywheel is a bit bigger than the lt1 crank and thus the starter doesn't line up...

I was supposed to have a one peice rear main seal but, the guy I bought it from gave me a kit to install it on the LT1...

Any suggestions?? are there any special flywheels I can get? OR I just have to use a spacer or something???

If there's too much gap between the starter and flywheel teeth, you can fab up a spacer and get it to fit correctly. If the fit is too close, you can have the mating surface on the starter milled down.

That is what I am doing.. I wanted to know if there is any special flywheel for this kind of situation, since there was a kit (the one I used) to install it on the lt1

Your flywheel bolt circle diameter matches the bolt circle diamter of your 2pc seal crank? I ask b/c older 2pc cranks are 3.57 or 3.58" IIRC, and new stuff is right at 3". Even if it is, you may have clutch issues I believe b/c of the flywheel thickness or relative heights of the PP mounting surface & friction surface.. if that makes sense .

You'll likely just need a new flywheel meant to adapt 2pc cranks to late model trans/clutch setups & both Centerforce and Fidanza make them I believe .

http://www.aluminumflywheels.com/ is Fidanza's site & the p# you're looking for is 198661 I believe.

This is an auto...

I am using a flywheel for the 2pc cranks.. because the other one didn't line up with the bolts...

This one has a total diameter that is larger than the lt1 has.

PART#471529 is a 153 tooth 12 3/4 diameter flexplate for a 2 piece rear main seal. The stock diameter flexplate is 153 tooth 12 3/4 diameter on the LT1's. If you have the larger 168 tooth 14" diameter, you are gonna need a different starter.

EDIT' I should have asked. Since you put a new crank in your motor, did you have it balanced? If you did, did they balamce it to the bigger flexplate?

Well if your gonna go the starter route, I would buy a mini torque starter. The correct starter for the 168 tooth flywheel is larger and might cause some clearance problems. A mini torque has both bolt patterns for the small and large flywheels. I have seen guys selling brand new ones on ebay for 89.00 bucks. Or you can get these from summit as well.

The part number I gave you is a gm flywheel. I got the part number form one of my GM high po catalogs.
