Tuning for cc306 & 385 LT1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just started my rebuilt 385LT1 with cc306 camshaft and the following mods:
52mm BBK TB
30# FMS injectors
Stock Fuel Pump
Long Tube headers
Ported LT1 heads
Ported MAF
Eagle forged rotating assembly with -16 dish pistons.
Manual Transmission/3.54 rear ratio
I still have my old tune for ZZ9 cam and flat top pistons (11:1 CR).
What exactly need to be changed in the the new tune. Will it make a big difference.
Also, my check engine light is on and the fan is on all the time. I used EZ link to scan for error codes but found no errors.
Any help.

Re: Tuning for cc306 & 385 LT1
Get a hold of Ion, he did my initail tune and i have a very similar set up to yours. With his bin file my car started and idled great right out the box and had Zero cam surge. Since you have a new motor it is definatly worth the $60-$80 (depending if you have a tuner program and can use e-mail).
Re: Tuning for cc306 & 385 LT1
get a mail tune to get it running then get it to a dyno tuner ion did ok but you cant beat a dyno tune on a motor like yours btw i have a 13.6:1 compression 396 and the tune made it run but it really needed the dyno tune to get it perfect

I agree it needs to go to the dyno for final tuning (I picked up 31 HP) but definatly get the mail order form Ion to get the thing up and running without washing the rings out or somthing else bad.
