Trying to remove Knock Sensor from block, center spins...
Hi guys,
My knock sensor has been in my block since it rolled off the factory floor. I'm in the middle of a head gasket change, so I was going to remove the knock sensor in order to fully drain the block. I was using a 7/8 deep socket to remove the knock sensor and... the center of the unit began to spin independently of the rest of the unit. So, now i'm stuck with the knock sensor in the block.
Does anyone have an idea of what tool i could use to remove the darn knock sensor? Kind of a bad design to have the torqued parts not be directly attached to what is screwed into the block! It looks like the center piece (with the knock sensor plug) is crimped onto the main part of the unit which screws into the block.
any help would be much appreciated! I'd really like to get the heads out this weekend!
