Drove my friends 95 TA M6 today, noticed that it feels much smoother when i shift his Tranny, also, when down shifting like from 3rd to 2nd at around 40MPH, his slips in second very easily while mine on the other hand is quite difficult (requires more force) and when it does go in mine makes a grinding/rattling sound. I think my synchros are bad/worn/going out. Any ideas ?

 

Sound like syncros to me. I wouldnt worry about it if its not bad. Borg warner trannies are known for all sorts of different problems of that nature, when you reach the point that it becomes a challenge to get it to down shift, then i would worry.
