LT1/T56 conversion to push style clutch
I'am having trouble finding a clutch fork. So what would it take to switch to push style clutch?
What parts would I need off a LS1 input shaft, front plate, throw out bearing, ect. How much off the LS1 can I use and what flywheel would I need or work for my LT1 one piece rear main. I 'am new to this forum and LT1's it is my son's car trying to get it going for him as low budget as possible any info or parts list would be greatly appreciated. 1995 Camaro Z28

Re: LT1/T56 conversion to push style clutch
the LT1 "pull" clutch T56 fork is very hard to find these days. Junkyards or ebay may have one which would be the shortest and least expensive path to resolving your problem if it is just the fork you need.
some have switched to push using a LT1 T56 as is. IIRC Weir makes a bellhousing and TO bearing (hydraulic) allowing you to use a push clutch (10.5" IIRC vs 11")
I know it has been done as a b-body guy did it. Google it and

Re: LT1/T56 conversion to push style clutch
I did see an article in a Chevrolet mag on he T56. D and D performance has done them. It is expensive (approx. ~$3k). I have had D and D performance do T56 trans rebuilds for me. Many of the parts are not being made due to age and Temec limited production in Mexico. At some time, the only option will be a T6060 with modified tail section. The T6060 is much more improved. They told me that my Viper 30 spline output shaft is hard to come-by these day. These guys are pros @ the Tremec trans rebuilds. I got educated. D and D website sells a T6060 for the 4h gen. Approx $3900. B.

Re: LT1/T56 conversion to push style clutch
D&D does great work. Where I bought my T56 new in 2005 and had them do some upgrades to it before shipping. Back then "new" 94-94 T56 were available
To convert to a "push" clutch IIRC there is no modification to the trans itself other than removing the clutch fork and using a hydraulic slave/TO bearing. There is I believe a hardened snout but the stock one is good
