Trouble code help

I went and got my car checked with a scan tool today and these are the codes I got:

P0171- Sytem too lean, left bank on 4 sensor systems

P0174- System too lean, right bank

I know it could possibly be the MAF sensor, MAP sensor, or the O2 sensors.

Can anyone help me out here?

Re: Trouble code help

or it could be a vacuum leak somewhere. Check your vacuum hoses and make sure the intake elbow is on correct. Also check the hose to the air pump.

Re: Trouble code help

Leaks in the exhaust before the O2 sensors and misfires can cause a "false" lean condition. Low fuel pressure, faulty MAF, large vacuum leaks, a hole in the inlet bellows will all cause a lean condition.

Re: Trouble code help

Try to get ahold of a fuel pressure gauge, make sure it's getting enough fuel first. Best to find out if it's false or not, just in case it really is lean.

I have a problem with a whistling, kinda screaming sound that occurs when you start the car and quites down as the car reaches running temp. Can these two things be related?

Re: Trouble code help

That sound could be a vacuum leak. Raise the hood and see if you can pinpoint where it's coming from.
