Trouble Code 16! Need Help Plz!
OK so just yesterday i installed 8.5 msd wires, csr elect.water pump, and hypertech 160 stat.anyway the first day my 93 z ran great.but now it runs like crap misfireing and just not pulling with power.so i scaned the ecm and it reads codes 16 and 46(its been flashing 46 for a while im pretty sure its got nothing to do wit my prob.)Could this be a opti?hope not please help. P.S. i new go easy on me and any help would be great thank you.
Maybe you have a burnt wire, which is why it ran fine the 1st day, then started giving you problems. Did you run them in the factory locations, or did you reroute them another way?
BTW: You can lookup codes on Shoebox's site http://shbox.com/1/Dtcs.htm
DTC 16 is "Distributor ignition system (low resolution pulse)" .... not sure what that means, but I'm sure someone will chime in.
Thomas.

From Shoebox's LT1 code list:
http://shbox.com/1/Dtcs.htm
DTC 16 = Distributor ignition system (low resolution pulse)
That means the PCM has had a problem finding the low resolution pulse pattern from the optical sensor in the Optispark. If the engine is running, its a "stored" code, since the PCM will shut down the fuel system if it can't find the low res pulse pattern. It needs that signal to time the ignition and the injectors.
It isn't unusual to find that code stored. Clear the PCM and see how quickly it comes back. I would check both end of the harness connector for the Opti for corrosion or damaged pins.
DTC 46 = Pass-Key®II circuit
Indicates a problem with the pass-key security system.
