Trick Flow Head Guys -- Questions

Ok, my new motor just came in, so time to start addressing issues, starting with my TFS heads.

The large ECT ports. These are obviously too big. I need a plug and an adapter for my ECT for the drivers side. Anyone know where to get these?

Coolant line (pipe) plugs for the front of the heads. Again, anyone know where to get these??

TIA.

its a different thread than factroy along with the different size. you can retap it and buy an adapter from advance that will fit npt threads and your sensor. thats the way i did it. as far as pluging the holes i found the part number for the factory plugs and retaped those holes aswell and used the factory plugs.

Well, so long as putting a brass fitting into an aluminum head isn't going to cause issues I think I've got the adapter for the ECT taken care of. I got a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter at Lowes today, and cut it down a little over 1/2 way. I've got about 3-4 threads engagement into the head with a thick wrap of teflon tape, so it shouldn't leak.

I was sweating freaking bullets though because those threads that TFS left did not hold up well. I though drastic measures were going to be necessary but I managed to clean them up.

Pics to come. And FYI, the coolant ports on the ends are a 1/4 pipe fitting. I just need to find the recessed plugs instead of the protruding plugs.

*edit* Here's a pic of the adapter and the ECT installed. They shouldn't be sticking out too far as to cause problems.

Sean,
are you still running both temp sensors? They have one in the head, and one in the water pump. If so, have you ever compared your water temp guage with the actual temp the computer sees? Actual water temp is higher than what most guages show, because the guage uses the sensor in the head, and the computer uses the one in the water pump. GM has a fix for this that includes a new 3 prong sensor that goes in the water pump. This way, your guage and computer see the correct (same) reading. Let me know if you want the part numbers for the sensor and associated pig tail connector.
BTW, I use either Russel, Jegs, or Aeroquip plugs and adapters.

The temp sensor that goes in the water pump is part number 10096181. The connector is part number 12102748. Just cut the wire that originally went to the head temp sensor, and splice it into the new pigtail connector.

Happen to have a wire breakout of the sensor connector or are they color coded like factory?
