Trick-Flow Elbow question

Just put a Trick-Flow intake Elbow on my Z...and it seems to have made my car a lil slower, and under Full Throttle conditions it seems like it's sucking int too much air and not gettin enough Fuel....was just wondering if this is norm, although the Car is being rolled into the shop soon for full bolt ons, and a bult tranny...was just pondering why the elbow would do that is all.

Re: Trick-Flow Elbow question

Not sure if it has the vented Opti or not, although there is a Vacumm line it looks like that was pluged in the stock elbow right behind the MAF...but I had made a hole in the Sleeve and ran it back to where it was originally....guess I will see when I roll it out of the shop and to the track..do a pass with the stock Elbow and a pass with the Trick-Flow...hmm..

Re: Trick-Flow Elbow question

The elbow will not flow enough extra air where you will need to compensate with additional fuel. Just make sure the elbow itself is butted up to the throttle body and all of your connections are tight and no leaks are present. Also, make sure as already noted that your vented opti hose is accounted for and your IAC is plugged back in.

Re: Trick-Flow Elbow question

It doesn't matter whether it flows more air or not. The MAF sensor is there to measure acutal mass air flow into the engine, and the PCM proportions the fuel to the air flow based on the target A/F ratio..... that's one of the benefits of the mass-air system.... it adjusts to improvements in volumetric efficiency.

If you lost power, something is not put back together correctly.... a sensor wire is loose or damaged, MAF was damaged (or in stalled backwards).... or there is a huge leak somewhere between the MAF and the throttle body.
