Trap Speeds with Nitrous/Hotcam

I am trying to figure out what gears to get and just wanted to know what kind of traps you guys are running.

I plan on doing a hotcam and rebuild of the motor this winter ( by rebuild I mean freshen up with new gaskets and boring it out to a 355 with forged pistons) and will be running a 150 shot.

What traps are you guys seeing with that set up ???

Also, what RPM are you shifting at??

Stock heads?
Shift between 6 and 6500 wherever it feels the best.

assuming m6 with fairly normal launch (between 1.8 and 2.0) it should move pretty well. Trap 120ish give or take a few depending on all the conditions.

I hope to go see what mine will trap soon. Have to pick up a valve for my blow down tube first though.

I'm trapping 125 with heads/cam/150 shot in a full weight car, no slicks or skinnies or anything like that. I'm crossing the traps when my shift light comes on with 3.73's.

I'm guessing 3.73's will be the best bet. Anything higher and I think I will be running out of gear at the top and I don't want to be shifting into 5th.

Thanks Guys

LT4 Hot Cam Kit, Stock Heads, and a 100 Shot I was trapping 117 last night.

That's on the factory rear with 3.23s.

Port matching stock heads is a major waste of time and effort. There will be no gain. I spend alot of time with the diegrinder in hand and gasket matched (layed intake & exaust gaskets on respective ports and used a sharpie to outline the port), and gained nothing. Dyno and track proven. If you have gasket material hanging in the ports remove the offending section and that's it. Or you end up like me and destroy a set of castings (not even Phil at AI could fix what I did... well technically he could, but it would cost more than another set of castings).

I shifted my hot cam arround 6400 RPM on and off the bottle. Traped 110 N/A and 119 on the 100 shot, and 126 on a bigger (though unrecomended) shot.

What's wrong with shifting into 5th gear? It shifted into fifth and went 10's on my cam head nitrous car.

Had my hotcam car go 11.33 @ 118 w/ 1.53 60 ft. with 100 shot. Heads were gasket matched, bowl blended, and had bigger valves. Full weight and stock suspension. 3.42 gears.

Thanks. At the time of the videos I had a hot cam, long tubes and a nx kit. That's it. I also had bolt on suspension parts from BMR and a 12 bolt.

It was a 200 shot on paper, but at the dyno I only got 175. I did pull a bunch of timing though, maby that was it. It was an 'end of the season' kind of thing. I was bulding my cam head 355 (bought a spare block and head castings... DON'T PORT YOUR OWN HEADS ) so I didn't care about blowing up. This way I would have "spare bullets", so if I blew up on friday I would be back racing saturday. To bad I cant afford to do that with my new engine. I wanted to make some more passes with it, but they closed the track after they emptied the staging lanes. Probably for my own good.
It went fast though.
