Post Milan isn't only for guys......

Milan was a blast but traction really sucked, I got in a few runs early in the day with only a couple of 13.1x's to show and had a blast with Chris(IROCSS85) then when it cooled off and I lowered the pressure in my tires my car was stolen right in front of my own eyes! My girlfriend was convinced that she wanted to try it so she took my Camaro 6-speed of course and tried drag racing for the first time out, her first run she spun like a bat outahell and shifted into 2nd gear before the car even started moving, then it bogged a little and she took off in second, then she missed third gear and kept hitting the rev limiter, she paniced, ground the gears and then just let go and coasted the rest of the track, her first time was a 16.4 @ 63 mph (worst time I have ever seen in a modded 2002 Z28) I convinced her to do one more try cuz some of the guys were makin fun of her (she was the only girl there). She got right back in line and before I knew it she took over, she ran a couple of 14's cuz she spun for a long time and kept shifting into 2nd waaaay to early. She ran five runs and started trapping some 106 mph speeds and the guys that were makin fun of her got theres cuz she was faster than most, even though it is a high 12-low 13 second car and the average trap speeds are 109+ anyway, on her last run she was against a ls1 white camaro SS that from what I could see had an aftermarket exhaust and tires, she got the jump on it and then it flew a few car lengths ahead of her I thought it was over but she shifted hard breaking them loose at 2nd and 3rd and she flew past him, at the end of the quarter she was a few lengths in front of him and she pulled a high 13 second run (she was so happy), I was sooo proud that she was into drag racing and had fun and she will improve but I am very dissapointed because she stole all my runs and for the first time ever someone else was driving my car, I wish I would have had some time to drive my own car but after her 5 runs in a row the car was outa gas. O'well, I didn't get to race much but I got to see my girl beat a lot of guys that said she couldn't race a 6 speed. I got some bets laid now against some of my buddies to race against my car with my girl driving it.

That is cool. Years ago there was a girl that was at the track alot. She Had a built Nova that ran in the 12.0. none of the guys said anything bad about her because very few people were running in the 12.0 back then.

yeah, she did pretty good. esp. considering it was her first time and she's still afraid of the car a little. now I gotta get kelly to take the Z. that'd be cool.

jp2002ls1, do you have a navy blue Z28 with a Z-style hood? Because I saw a girl racing that car. She did well considdereing track conditions were crap.

It was the navy blue Z28 with the z-style hood that she was racing, everyone was watching her especially after her first run. Too bad I am going to law school because that car is for sale now real cheap and I'll have to build her something low budget to race until I can graduate law school.
