trans & motor didnt tilt when jack was lowered

I figured i would drop my trans and then the bellhousing/clutch. I have everything disconnected. All trans bolts are out except the top two, the cross member is out and yes the driveshaft and torque arm are out to. I even have the slave cylinder or whatever on the side disconnected and pulled up out of the way. When i went to lower the jack slightly to tilt the trans down for access to the top two bolts of the trans it didnt even drop an inch! It might not have dropped any at all! What gives?...Not my trans

I forgot to mention that I DID remove the shifter plate or whatever you call it from the trans tunnel so that's not the issue

Do you possibly have solid motor mounts? Even with rubber mounts, you sometimes have to push up on the front of the engine in order to tilt the trans down. Make sure your oil pressure sensor is not up against the firewall, and ready to break off (assuming you have a "late" 94, and not the "early" version with the pressure sensor above the oil filter).
