ive recently had this problem too, Im not too sure what that is either. i wouldnt mind finding out...

It seems to not want to shift until you let off the gas right??? Then once you let off a bit, it shifts, but only in first.

Dont try to guess at it...I assume its under a warranty?? I had a 1 year on my trans buildup... If the tranny isnt even 6 months old take it to the trans shop and see what they say.

anyone have any idea what that problem could be as to why it doesnt want to shift in first sometimes until you let off of the gas?

Re: tranny shift problems??

Does the transmission have a shift kit? Your problem sounds like the 2-4 band is wasted. Hopefully you didn't have a Trans-Go kit installed, as this is a common problem associated with them.
If it doesn't have a Trans-Go kit, someone screwed up when they built it.

i have a transgo shift kit installed. But does that 2-4 band have anything to do with the shift from 1-2? Cuz that is the only time that i ever have this problem, and even still it is rare

The "2-4" band is called that because it's the holding member in both 2nd, and 4th. It has to come on for 2nd gear. It can affect your 3-4 shift also, but not always.

What's the fix if you do have a Trans-Go kit? I recently installed one and mine is doing something similar and I haven't had a chance to call them...

There's nothing you can really do now, short of a rebuild. The damage all Trans-Go kits do is already done!

The fact is, I've been building racing transmissions for over 14 years....I've NEVER taken a 700 or 4L60E apart that had a TG kit that didn't have the 2-4 band and 3-4 clutches smoked.

The problem is, there isn't enough competent transmission builders out there. I don't use a "boxed" shift kit. I actually know enough about how a transmission works to modify it CORRECTLY without a "boxed" shift kit.

My only suggestion is, if anyone ever takes their car to a shop to have the transmission rebuilt, and they tell you they use TG kit, TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE! They obviously don't know what they're doing.
