TPS issue, replaced, still having issues

TPS issue has been recurring for some time now. I got a code last week, and I replced the TPS, but the car still acts the same, and the service light keeps coming on. Car will cut out for short periods of time while cruising, and the light comes on. Idle is funky when the car is cold, ETC.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this cronic issue with the TPS?

You could have an intermittent problem with the wiring leading to the TPS or the connector.

What was the EXACT code you got before the TPS replacement? Have you checked to make sure you are still getting the same code, after TPS replacement?

Good point,

If you are, run the wiring path all the way back and look for shorts/ bad connections. a bad/ coroded connection could cause it.

If it turns out to be a bad, or corroded connection, how do I go about repairing the problem without messing up the wiring harness. I know that if the incorrect wire is used, it will mess up the impedance... correct?

It's an easy fix, Pull the plug and wire out, unwrap all that crap off the wires and look at it over. If there are cracks, hot spots, or kinks in the wire that will be the area that causing the problem. Just cut back about 2" inch away from the damage area and splice in the new wire just make sure you use the same gage wire.
