i was just curious how much i could expect hp wise from a tune after all my mods and LT headers. i think ill probably get a madwolf tune and he said they gurantee 13rwhp gains. i think thats right. anyways what have people seen running similar cams after a tune?

 

That's sound about right, but the best way to tell is if you had dyno number before and after mods to help add it up.

 

If you put the cam in and have not had a tune you SHOULD see more than 13 rwhp I'd say.

 

Not tuning the car after a cam swap is exactly the same as swapping a cam in an older car and not retiming it or rejetting the carb, does it sound sufficiently stupid now? On a stock car you will see 13hp to the tires on a modified one you WILL see a good bit more. if you are not prepared to have a pcm tune done do not both modifying the car because all you are doing is getting a fraction the gains you would have with the right tuning.

 

i only did the upgrades because i was already in there for a head gasket failure. that was a month ago and now im ready to tune it for the aftermarket parts. but from what im understanding the 13hp mark is for stock cars and since i have some upgrades i should benfit even more. thanks for the help
