top end...help.

my mods are listed. besides the a/f ratio gauge, thats like 20rwhp right? well anyway....my friend has a 99z with exhaust aftermarket maf and some other minor stuff. the biggest thing is he has 4.56's yes its not a typo. but anyway i can pull him by a car from the start. and this is me half throttling it through 1st to prevent spin. but man when we get up top he gains back to about a half car on me. even with the ratio he has. well maybe its because i have been running rich?? who knows. are there any of my mods that could be causing me to run rich?

also how do you think a 92 or 93 mustang gt with H/C/I and headers would fair against me?

The only thing that could really affect you causing a rich condition would be from a fuel pump causing more fuel than necessary. This is assuming your tune is right on. Your mods don't effect air fuel much and it is more likely something to do with the cars running condition and not your mods.

Something as simple as exhaust leaks before the O2 sensors, faulty O2 sensors, miscalibrated MAF sensor and misfires can make it run rich. A PCM scan, with a data log showing the long term fuel corrections would be a good first step.

thanks

well i dont have an exhaust leak and its got the original o2 sensors on it...so maybe thats it, esp. considering that the car has 110k. and the car has thrown the MAF code twice, but i delete it and it doesnt come back on, if it does its like 2 months later

Sounds like the opti is on the way out. You can wait till it goes or replace it when you have the money and time. If its the origional one its a good chance it will run better when its replaced.
