Tire Opinions / Advice

Hey everyone,
I'm looking at these two tires

Sumitomo HTRZII 275/40-17
$152.99 a piece

BFGoodrich KDW 275/40-17
$184.99 a piece

I dont know which to go with. Are the prices about right? I know I can get them way cheaper at tirerack.com, but the problem is trying to find someone to put them on (correctly). Also the place Im going to buy them from offer a lifetime roadhazard warrenty.

Suggestions Please

For tire mounting, find one of those custom wheel shops that sell/mount 20" and up tires (think bling, bling). You might pay a little bit more but they are less likely to F up your rims. Find a reputable one too. Not some hole in the wall place.

Well, the place I normally go to, I know the people there really well.. I have a life time road hazard with them, which is great.. If I ever get a puncture or a blown tire, they'll change it out for $20.. Plus they are a national retailer so there is one is practically every city.

Just didnt know which tires would be best

Don't know the Sumitomos, but I am using KDW's and like 'em. 285/40/27 on the rear and 275 on the front.

Yes

Nothing really. You have a little more sidewall. With the 275 you have about 4.33" sidewall. With the 285 you have about 4.48" sidewall.

Your tire diameter will go from 24.66 on the 275 to 24.97 with the 285.

The speedometer will indicate 55, but actual speed will be 55.7.

If you want to sacrifice your ability to rotate tires from front to back I would not do it for a 285. You are only gaining about 3/8" in width and less that 3/8" tire diameter. No one will even notice that.
