Timing Chain set up for N20/Boost?
Re: Timing Chain set up for N20/Boost?
Demon's Camaro : No, Thier not. There is not top speed limiter if your car has Z-Rated tires from the factory/150 speedo. Top speed on a bone stock LT1 F-Body is over 150 btw.

To do a gear drive, you have to have a tuner disable your knock sensor completely.
It picks up all the extra noise as knock, and retards the timing/makes it run like ****. Its not worth the hassle in tuning to switch to gears.
What does have to be done to convert to a Cloyes double roller? Besdies and E-WP?

The stock chain is a bad joke when laid next to the

I was just curious as to their longevity and reliability. Im looking at running one in my BBC here shortly and could give two hoots about the knock sensor and the ECM for that matter. Gotta love carbs.

If your LT1 left the factory with the "base" tires, your top speed is limited by the stock programming to about 115mph (the exact number varies by year). If your car left the factory with the optional (RPO "QLC") Z-rated tires, the number entered in the top speed limiter field in the stock PCM programming is "255". That's the largest number you can put in an 8-bit binary field.
