Where did you get that info. I spoke with Cloyes and even they said go with the double roller if you want the best....

I am pretty sure the guy I spoke to was an Engineer, at minimum. We actually talked about the whole line and history of all the dealings with GM and aftermarket workings/etc. He knew his stuff for sure and surely did not act as if the LT4 setup was as reliable as the true roller. If you want to keep it simple (but expensive still), then yes go with that but if you want the best (same essential price) then dont. This was just last week, but I got no name (tech dept.)

Well,look at it with common sense.A chain don't break the side straps,the pin breaks.
If ya had a chain with a 1/32" pin and one with a 1/16" pin which would be stronger?
The ED is a roller also and has been used with a lot more HP than you are making-ie more valve spring pressure and living,I use one on the shop car with 260# seat and 768# on the nose and no problems.Ya don't have to change a bunch of other stuff to run it,either.Ya will have to check the alignment of the sprockets,looking from the side and a streight edge.

I am just going on what he told me. I posted his essential bottom line above. He did believe in that being a quality unit but the cost of it really disgusted him, myself, and probably anyone else looking at it. IIRC, you still have to convert to the new style opti to use it also.... so that is alot of the cost right there. The biggest change was going with the electric water pump, which I am not crazy about but at least its cheaper. Perhaps it is stretch limits that is also a concern, and yes your car is def. pushing alot more spring than I will be with the setup but it would take a whole lot of convincing to say that the true double roller still wouldnt be a better setup than the LT4 (from a chain reliability/stretch/break/etc standpoint).
