timing chain or fuel pump?
ok guys do you think this is the timing chain or fuel pump and how hard is either of the two to change. sometimes my car starts right up and some times it turns over ten or twelve times before it starts then this week it started to sputter when i tried to accerate i think it even backfired once let me know what you guys think
Yep, check the fuel pressure witha guage. More than likely your check ball is going. This is what keeps the fuel pressure up through the system. Once this starts to go, the fuel pressure will start to decrease ever so slightly.
With the key on, engine off, pressure should be around 43psi and hold constant. With the engine idling, pressure should drop 3 to 10psi, and increase slightly with throttle pressure. Anything different than those conditions and you have a fuel system problem.
