Throttle Sticking
Throttle Sticking
Have a 96 Camaro with a LT1 engine. Today was a really hot day and the throttle was sticking. I would have to tap the gas pedal to get it to go back to regular idle. After the car cooled down for a bit it worked fine. I also noticed when driving it, it was running warm, just below the red mark!! I am thinking that it may need a new thermostat. The car has 200,000 km's on it and it has had a hard life. Has the B4C package and is a ex RCMP car. Fun to drive but needs some TLC!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Have you ever cleaned and lubricated the throttle body?
Have you checked the radiator for blockage? Is the lower air dam still in place under the bumper? Is the coolant level full? Has all air been bled from the coolant system? Have you verified that the fans are working on both low and high speed?
