Throttle Body BYpass

What is the point of performing a Throttle Body Bypass what does it do good for your car,and does it hurt it in any areas?

Thanks

Hey man. The TB BYpass diverts hot coolant from running through your TB and warming up the air entering the intake man. The purpose of it is to keep the throttle plates from freezing on really cold days. If you drive yor car alot in cold weather I dont suggest doing it.

In theory, the coolant is run through the TB to heat it up and prevent "icing" in cold weather. I've driven my car in sub-0degF weather, and no evidence of TB icing. Maybe if you live north of the Arctic circle its a problem... .
