Throttle body bypass
Throttle body bypass
how exactly do i complete the throttle body bypass. i have been to serveral sites but they don't seem thorough and detailed enough for me! lol i get the point of doing it but it seems like theres two differnt ways. do i have to have a metal piece of tubing to connect the inlet and outlet hoses together? some guy that i read from bought a tb bypass kit for like 20 bucks and it came with this tube. im not sure if i need that or not???? im totally dumbfounded with this because i know where the inlet and outlet hoses are on the tb that i am supposed to disconnect and connect the two hoses together i just need some more information to do it!! thanks! im sorry im an ididot!
Depends on the year of your car. The 93/94's need the barbed fitting. The 95-97's do not... you can just hook the hose from one side to the metal fitting on the other side, and toss the little 90-deg elbow.
Ok.. on the passenger side there is a metal tube that runs down the valve cover into a rubber hose that makes a 90* bend into the TB.. Pull that hose off and chuck it. Take the hose that runs from the radiator to the drivers side of the TB and disconnect it from the TB and reconnect it onto that metal tube running down the valve cover.. Thats all there is too it.. Good Luck!

i have a 95 to let you know. also thanks guys for the posts i think i know what to do now! i hope so at least. during the winter when it is cold will it be a major issue and hurt something by bypassing it. because i know that it is used to defrost the throttle body from ice or so when it is cold so will this b bad or do i have to hook it back up in the winter?

The idea is to prevent the moisture in the air from condensing out on the blades and icing, in extremley cold weather. Unless you live north of the Arctic Circle, I wouldn't worry about it.
