three questions

First...Has anyone had any trouble with water leaking into passenger side floor board. I have pulled the kick panel and nothing looks wet. Also, the door isn't wet so I don't think its the window. Any Ideas?

Second....I just put plugs on my car after finding one burned. I thought I had a fuel pressure problem also, but after inspection by myself and not from someone else, it seems fine. My problem is this, it doesn't seem to have a good idle quality. It runs fine everywhere else except when it gets warm and the rpm's drop at idle. It shakes like it has a cam or something (kind of lopes), but its a stock set up as far as I know. Should my idle be smooth or what kind of quality should I have?

Third....My lower passenger side bolt on my water pump isn't screwed all the way in. I tried to tighten it to no avail. It won't budge any farther. It likes about a 1/4 inch from being seated on the pump. Car doesn't appear to be loosing water, but is this a problem? I have ran it like this since I've owned it and just now saw it when I changed plugs. I know it is a potential problem, and I don't want to fry the opti.

Re: three questions

can't say too much about 1 or 2, but can you remove the water pump bolt? if so you should check the threads on it. maybe go to the hardware store and get a shorter bolt or get a few washers.

Re: three questions

1 is usually from a leaking heater core.

2 sounds like you have old 02s that should be replaced during a tune up. Like every 60K miles.

3 remove and replace with a shorter bolt. Take it out when it's hot so you have less chance of breaking it off. When you get it out, you may discover why it's too long.

Re: three questions

Ok very helpful, and thanks for the replies...My only problem is this...It only leaks after it rains, and there is no color to the water, its clean and clear. Should I investigate again?

Re: three questions

Check the wiring harness where it goes through the firewall on the passengers side. One my first 4th gen, I cut the rubber grommet to route some amp wires through and ended up with a major leak.

Pull back the carpet and have someone use a water hose on the windshield. You can then watch inside to see where it is coming from.

Re: three questions

Ok...... so no fix to the problem......But, I did find the problem......My car has had a passenger side quarter put on the car in the past. It appears to be leaking around the welds that are holding the panel on.......What's the best way to go about fixing it? For a temporary solution, I pulled the drain plugs from under the passenger side rear seat and floor board and saw niagra falls coming out from in under my car. I decided to leave these off for the time being, and put the RTV silicon around the welds(Not RTF, god I'm an idiot). Should I put seam sealer or reweld the joints?
